What it does

Reads a real page

Detects staff lines, bar lines and noteheads from a photograph — not a clean PDF, but the page as it actually sits on your music stand.

Plays what it read

Every scanned bar lands on a step grid with a real drum kit behind it, rendered from a bundled soundfont. Set the tempo and listen.

Fix anything by tapping

No scanner is perfect. Wrong note, missing kick, ghost note that should be an accent — tap the cell and correct it.

Songs, not just bars

Group scans into sessions, add page after page, and keep a whole chart together instead of one loose pattern at a time.

Export where you work

Standard MIDI files open in your DAW, MuseScore or GarageBand. Or render audio to WAV or MP3 and share it straight from the app.

Light and dark

A warm paper-and-ink theme for daylight and the original dark groove-machine look for a dim stage. It can follow your device setting.

How it works

  1. Line up the page Frame the drum sheet in the camera guide, or import a photo you already have in your gallery. A torch toggle helps on a badly lit stand.
  2. Let it read the staves The app finds the staff geometry and the noteheads on the page, then shows you which bars it found so you can pick the ones you want.
  3. Play it and fix it The bars land in a session as an editable step grid. Hit play, follow the cursor, and tap any cell the scanner got wrong.
  4. Export it Save or share the pattern as MIDI, WAV, or MP3 on Android.

Runs entirely on your device

DrumSheetScanner has no internet permission on Android and contacts no server of ours on any platform. Note detection, text recognition, audio synthesis and MP3 encoding all happen on your phone. There is no account to create, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your photos and patterns leave your device only when you yourself tap share or export.

MP3 export is Android-only for licensing reasons around the MP3 encoder, not because of any limitation on iPhone. iOS exports MIDI and WAV, both of which import everywhere MP3 does.
